Portable Solar Power? [video]


More and more great smart solutions are popping up today and this is a very cool step in the right direction. This handy device makes portable solar power possible. It’s called the Window Socket, developed by designers Kyuho Song & Boa Oh. This little gadget allows you to use electricity freely even in restricted areas such as a plane or car. Oh, and it can fit in your pocket.

The way it works is quite simple. There are small solar panels inside the unit and a suction cup attached. So, all you do is stick it on the widow so it can harness the power of the sun and when you plug in any device, you got power! It’s still in a concept stage but it’s functional now as the designers aim improve storage capacity and efficiency. Currently, it has about a 10 hour battery life and takes 5-8 hours to charge.
